1. Introduction
Welcome to MEL CAR. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our car rental services and website. By accessing our website or renting a vehicle from us, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Please read these terms carefully before using our services. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use our services.
2. Rental Requirements
2.1 Driver Requirements
- Minimum age: 21 years old (25 for luxury vehicles)
- Valid driver's license held for at least 1 year
- Valid identification (passport or national ID card)
- Valid credit card in the driver's name
2.2 Additional Drivers
Additional drivers must meet the same requirements and must be registered at the time of rental. Additional driver fees may apply.
3. Booking and Payment
3.1 Reservation
All reservations are subject to vehicle availability. We reserve the right to refuse any reservation at our discretion.
3.2 Payment Terms
- Full payment is required at the time of vehicle pickup
- We accept major credit cards and cash
- A security deposit is required and will be refunded upon vehicle return
- Prices are quoted in USD and include applicable taxes
3.3 Cancellation Policy
- Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup
- Cancellations within 48 hours: 50% charge
- No-show: Full charge
4. Vehicle Use
4.1 Permitted Use
The vehicle may only be used:
- On paved roads in Morocco
- By authorized drivers listed on the rental agreement
- For lawful purposes
- In accordance with all traffic laws and regulations
4.2 Prohibited Use
The vehicle must NOT be used:
- For racing, testing, or any competitive event
- To transport illegal goods or substances
- While under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- To tow or push any vehicle or trailer
- Off-road or on unpaved surfaces (unless specified)
- To transport more passengers than seat belts available
- For commercial purposes without prior authorization
5. Insurance and Liability
5.1 Insurance Coverage
All rentals include basic insurance coverage. Additional coverage options are available at extra cost.
5.2 Renter's Liability
The renter is responsible for:
- All damage to the vehicle during the rental period
- Loss or theft of the vehicle or its accessories
- All traffic fines and parking violations
- Towing and impound fees
- Loss of keys or documents
6. Vehicle Return
6.1 Return Conditions
- Vehicle must be returned on the agreed date and time
- Vehicle must be returned to the agreed location
- Vehicle must be returned in the same condition as received
- Fuel level should match the level at pickup (or as agreed)
6.2 Late Return
Late returns will be charged at the daily rate plus a late fee. Vehicles returned more than 2 hours late will be charged for an additional day.
7. Breakdown and Accidents
7.1 In Case of Breakdown
Contact MEL CAR immediately. Do not attempt repairs yourself. We will provide roadside assistance or a replacement vehicle when possible.
7.2 In Case of Accident
- Contact the police immediately
- Obtain a police report
- Contact MEL CAR within 24 hours
- Do not admit liability
- Exchange information with other parties involved
8. Delivery and Collection
Vehicle delivery and collection services are available in Marrakech (free) and other Moroccan cities (additional fees apply).
Delivery times are approximate and subject to traffic conditions. We are not liable for delays.
9. Personal Data
We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to such processing.

10. Limitation of Liability
MEL CAR is not liable for:
- Personal belongings left in the vehicle
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Delays or cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control
- Mechanical failures (except as covered by warranty)
11. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Morocco. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Marrakech, Morocco.
